Dougal is a 2 year old Mastin-type dog who was brought to a foster home in the UK from Romania by MossMania Dog Rescue & Rehoming (https://www.mossmaniadogrescue.co.uk/). He is a "65 kilo hunk a burning love" according to his current fosterer who is only unable to keep him permanently because of an ongoing health issue.
Dougal is a keen learner but needs a strong owner who can give him the love and patience he so obviously wants. He has slightly wonky back legs which the vet believes is a congenital defect, rather than hip dysplasia - he fosterer gives him supplements to help with this. He really only exhibits this issue when he wakes after a night's sleep or a long nap. He can be boisterous and given his size might be better off in a home without young children. He's perfectly accepting of his fosterer's cat, chickens and turkey!
At the moment Dougal chooses to spend most of his time outside, coming in for meals and an ear scratch so he will be best in a rural home with a decent size garden.
He's a big boy. His fosterer says "The pics do his size no justice. Think polar bear."
