JONI Mitchell

Joni is the sweetest and most precious being! Unbelievably gentle, extremely affectionate (she's snuggled up to me as I type this), very low maintenance, lazy but loves her walks and playing with my dogs - she's a true gem.

She's still quite fearful of various things/situations - it's clear that she has dealt with a lot of trauma in her life. When she was in Spain, she was kept tied up, barely fed, bullied by other dogs and probably people too - she now loves life. She's making slow but steady progress and each little milestone feels huge. I can now (after a few close calls) also safely have her around my sheep, horse, and chickens - unfortunately she doesn't like very much cats.

As you might be able to tell, I love this dog to bits. I wouldn't be disappointed if no one adopted her, but keeping Joni would make fostering much harder in the future, and I would really like to be able to help other scared dogs like her. I have a great setup to be able to take in dogs that we know absolutely nothing about, like I did with Joni, but that wouldn't be possible anymore if she stays. So, once she's ready, we'll see if there's a perfect home out there where she can continue her journey
