Tierra is a gentle, loving and affectionate 5 year old Mastin. She's had a hard life, so acts more like a senior dog and is therefore just looking for peace and affection. She has been in the shelter since may 2020 and could really do with a home of her own.

For the past few months she has been in foster care (outside living) in Granada province, Spain with Christine. She is very happily living with a small female terrier and enjoys individual attention. She is a bit overweight, from loving her food, so needs encouragement to have more walks. Is currently in Granada Spain, and would be best in a rural Spanish home although would also be able to travel elsewhere in Europe, including the UK.

She has been living mostly outdoors in a very rural part of Spain most of her life so will need a very quiet and rural home, ideally with a large secure garden. She is okay with children, although cats are unknown. An older couple that have a lot of time for her would suit her best. She is fine with other dogs, including small breeds, and someone with experience of the breed, large dogs and/or rescues is preferable.

Tierra was found at the side of the road, having recently had another litter of puppies. The owner had a lot of animals, roaming in and around his property, most of them in a bad shape, and he is now under scrutiny of Seprona (the spanish environment police). The "owner" claimed he had no idea what happened to the puppies, so we could only safe mum and an adolescent at that time. Tierra was treated for the tick disease anaplasma, and got sterilized and operated on a hernia when she was well enough.
