Beautiful Honour is a calm, gentle giant, who loves to meet volunteers and go walking with them. Honour and her current kennel friend are the dogs that we usually introduce to beginner volunteers, because they are so easy to walk and Honour with her kind nature makes such a sweet introduction. She is affectionate with people and enjoys cuddles, showing the same attention to both adults and children. Honour loves walks, and walks well on a leash.
She was abandoned in November 2022, along with her seven puppies, at just a week old, in front of the shelter. Honour was an exemplary mother, always lovingly caring for her little family, but like many mothers before her, the puppies were adopted and the mother was left behind in the shelter for years, waiting. In the shelter itself, Honour lives with a male dog, and she has lived with many other different dogs before. She does not like all dogs in the world, she can be selective, but she could definitely live together with another male, preferably after having the chance to meet in a calm environment. Honour could also very well be a single dog of the household, as she is very connected to humans and loves to be around them. Also, loving children are welcome, as long as they understand not to bother the dog, especially during meals and sleep, and give her moments of rest. Honour loves to be around dog educated kind children.
During her city visit, she was not bothered by bicycles, cars, or motorcycles, and just kept calmly walking. Driving in the car is not yet her favourite thing in the world, and it makes her a bit nervous as she is not experienced yet, but she goes in and out of the car without problems. For our queen size giant, a secure dog-friendly garden would be ideal, where Honour can move freely, sunbathe, and meet the neighbors, although it’s not an absolute requirement for her adoption.
She is 5 years old and her shoulder height is around 75cm.
